“Life is a journey. The work done with Survive significantly eased the burden I felt and helped me move on in my journey forward”.
Jamie*, a male survivor of rape, had unresolved trauma, high levels of anxiety and fear, self-isolated and frequently considered taking his own life. His drink had been spiked on a business trip in London. For more than ten years he tried to manage his trauma but travelling across the country became increasingly stressful (strangers seemed threatening). He pushed friends and family away.
After 10 counselling sessions, he found the courage to tell his wife what had happened and move forward with his life – even managing to visit London with his family – something he had thought impossible.
