Survive has once again secured funding from the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Fund (RASASF) from the Ministry of Justice to deliver its specialist, trauma-informed services in York and North Yorkshire.
Chief Executive Officer of Survive, Ms Mags Godderidge said: “We are delighted to receive further funding from the Ministry of Justice. Last year, we saw an unprecedented 40% increase in demand for our specialist services. This funding allows us to recruit more specialist counsellors and support workers, deliver more services and help more survivors rebuild their lives after sexual trauma.”
Funding runs for 20 months from August 2023 to March 2025 – and, for the first time, will include funds specifically for services for survivors living in neighbouring East Riding of Yorkshire.
The overarching aim of RASASF is to fund holistic, trauma-informed, support to survivors who have been subjected to rape or sexual abuse at any point in their lives, regardless of where they live in England and Wales or whether they report the crime to the police.
