Do you want to help survivors of sexual violence rebuild their lives?

Due to increased demand for our specialist services since the start of the pandemic and additional funding from the Ministry of Justice, Survive is recruiting a senior counsellor and counsellor to work with survivors of rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse.

The senior counsellor will work in Harrogate and Craven and the counsellor will work in York. Both roles are initially for 12 months, however, could possibly become permanent – subject to funding. Both roles will work with adult survivors of sexual violence who self-refer to Survive or are referred to Survive by the Supporting Victims Unit under a contract funded by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC).

Both roles involve working some evening hours.

In addition to DBS checks, successful candidates will need to undergo additional vetting which requires them to have been resident in the UK for the last three years. Successful candidates will be expected to deliver counselling face-to-face, online or over the telephone.

Survive welcomes applications from members of the LGBTQIA+ and BAME communities or those with disabilities.

Please see the relevant documents below.  Please return your application to recruitment@survive-northyorks.org.uk by 12 noon on Monday 26th July 2021. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 in York.
