Survive is delighted to announce they are a selected charity for this year’s Lord Mayor Appeal.

The Lord Mayor of York’s fundraising committee raises money for the Lord Mayor’s selected charities for the year they are in office. This year, the fundraising committee will be supporting Survive as well three other local charities – The Stroke Association; York City Football Club Foundation; and York Rugby League Football Club Foundation.

Survive’s CEO, Mags Godderidge said, “We are thrilled to be supported by York’s Lord Mayor and Sheriff. Not only will the appeal raise much needed funds for Survive, allowing us to continue delivering life-changing, specialist trauma-informed services, it will also highlight the need for our services and help encourage more survivors to reach out and get the support they need to cope and recover from what happened to them”

Cllr Margaret Wells is York’s Lord Mayor for 2024-2025, with Fiona Fitzpatrick as the Sheriff of York. The Lord Mayor of York is the ‘first citizen’ of the city; appointment to this position is made each year, in May. At the same time each year, the Sheriff of York is appointed. York’s Lord Mayor is second only to the Lord Mayor of London in precedence and its Sheriff holds the oldest office of Sheriff in England and Wales.

Join the Lord Mayor and Sheriff of York and their consorts for cream tea at Marjorie Waite Court, York.
Only £5.00 per person including tea, home baked scone, butter, jam and cream.

Assize of Ale 2024 – Ale Trail – Saturday 21st September 2024

From 14:00 join the Sheriff of York, Fiona Fitzpatrick at York Mansion House as they start formal proceedings with the official assize proclamation. Owl Adventurers, The Potions Cauldron Group, York Mix and Town Crier will all be in attendance to help with the fanfare, before the tours set off on the pre-selected trails.
All those in traditional medieval costume / attire will receive 10% off drinks prices in the alehouses.
