Mission Statement

Survive (Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse in North Yorkshire) works towards supporting adult survivors and raising awareness of the relevant issues in the wider community.

This is achieved through the development of an effective, accessible and quality service.

Survive promotes the philosophy of self-help and aims to assist survivors in empowering themselves in order to define their own needs and access the support that they require.

Survive is committed to creating an environment that offers equality of opportunity and access to all its clients, staff and volunteers.

Strategic Aims:

  • To provide a quality information and support service which is accurate, confidential free and independent.
  • To raise the profile and highlight areas for change in the care of ‘survivors of child sexual abuse.’
  • To encourage community participation.
  • To ensure accessible, diverse and flexible pathways to healing that address the pain of childhood abuse from the perspective of the abused under the good practice of equal opportunities.
